This chart details the identification markings used by various sucker rod manufacturers (past and present) to differentiate the type or “grade” of the steel in the rods. Each color coded column represents a particular grade of rod. The number/letter combinations to the right of the manufacturers’ names are the grade codes which are hot stamped on the wrench flats during the upset forging operation.
